Godavari Pushkaralu will be celebrated in many sacred places in the three states of India i.e Maharastra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Beside the famous Pushkara places, there were many other Pushkara Ghats identified and developed by the State Governments. Here is a peek into those ghats which were located in various districts of Maharastra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Maharastra

Paithan

Paithan (formerly Pratishthana), is a city and a municipal council in Aurangabad district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The city was the capital of the Sātavāhana empire of ancient India that ruled from 2nd century BC to 2nd century AD. It is one of the few inland towns mentioned in the famous 1st century AD Greek book, Periplus Maris Erytharaei.

Paithaan is located 56 km south of present-day Aurangābād on the Godavari River in Maharashtra. Mungi village in Paithan was the birthplace of Nimbarka the founder of the Nimbarka Sampradaya tradition ofVaishnavism. Paithan was also the home of the great Maharashtrian saint Eknath, whose "samadhi" can be found there. The little town is famous for its Shrine of 'Sant Eknath' where people flock every year during the time of 'Paithan Yatra' also known as NathShashti. The town is mostly famous today for its sarees — the Paithani beautiful silk saris that sport intricately embroidered gold or silver borders. It is also a famous Digambar Jain atishay kshetra. A beautiful Black coloured Sand Idol of 20th Jain Tirthankar, Bhagwan Munisuvratnath is installed in temple here. It is believed that all wishes are fulfilled by praying here. Nanded

Nanded is one of the historical places in Marathwada region of Maharashtra State. It is situated on the north bank of Godavari River. It is famous for Sikh Gurudwaras. Nanded is a town of great antiquity. It is said that during the Puranic days, Pandavas traveled through Nanded district. Nandas ruled over Nanded through generations.

Telangana

Nirmal (Adilabad)

Nirmal Aptly called as the land of toys, the little town of Nirmal is nestled amidst hills and forests of Adilabad, a district in the state of Telangana. It is a Municipality in Adilabad district in Telangana, India. It is the Political Headquarters of the district with a history of 400 years. The name Nirmal is derived from one of its famous rulers, Nimma Naidu, in the 17th century. He was a great patron of arts, encouraging the art of toy making out of teak and a unique tender wood, Poniki, which flourished in his time bringing significance to the town. Today, toy making is a small-scale industry in the town.

Mancherial (adilabad)

Mancherial is a Municipal town in Adilabad district in the south Indian state of Telangana. It is located on the north banks of Godavari River with an area of 35 km2 (14 sq mi). It is situated 253 kilometres (157 mi) north east of the state capital Hyderabad. It is well connected by SC Railways and TSRTC Buses from Hyderabad and Warangal, Adilabad, Karimnagar etc. Towns

Gudem (Adilabad)

Gudem is a village located at about 40 km from Mancherial city of the Adilabad district. Located on the banks of the holy river Godavari that draws a border line between both Karimnagar and Adilabad districts. Gudem is famous for the Satyanarayana Swami Temple. The temple is dedicated to Sri Satyanarayana Swamy, who is believed to be the God of truth.

Chennur (Adilabad)

Chennur is a City in Chennur Mandal in Adilabad District of Telangana State, India. It is located 184 KM towards East from District head quarters Adilabad. It is a Mandal head quarter. Chennur is one of the few cities in Telangana, where the Brahmin community is in high numbers

KotiLingala (Karimnagar)

Kotilingala is an historic place which is known as first capital city of Satavahanas, who were the first Telugu rulers. Kotilingala is located on the bank of river Godavari in Velgatoor mandal of Karimnagar district. There is an old Shiva temple located on the bank of Godavari river at Kotilingala.

Kandukurthy (Nizamabad)

It is also popular as the entry point of river Godavari, in the state Telangana, which originates at Triyambakeshwar of Nasik in Maharastra state. The Triveni Sangam and Wriveni Sangam is the confluence of river Haridra, Godavari and Manjeera. This village has a great historical background and believed that the Skandaashramam was also here. During the period of Vanavasa, Lord Sri Rama came here and done pujas. The village is also the birth place of the founder of R.S.S. Dr. Keshav Rao Balirao Hegdewar and lot of people including pilgrims / scholars and political leaders visit this place.
